    • Essay Workshop- I will meet with each of you, but also complete the following steps before finalizing your essay:
      • CHECK THESIS
        • Highlight it.
        • Have you named the attitudes Hamlet has in sol. #1 and sol. #2? Circle them.
        • Have you identified the devices you discuss in the paper to explain how the attitudes are established or how they shift?
      • CHECK BODY
        • Examine each body paragraph to see how it related to the thesis. 
        • Underline words and phrases that relate to the specific ideas in the thesis.
        • Are there any sections in the body paragraphs that are NOT about the thesis? (Probably have to take it out.)
      • CHECK QUOTES
        • Where are you using quotations from the soliloquies?
        • Does each quotation have explanation, commentary, and connection to the topic of the paragraph and thesis?
      • CHECK CONCLUSION
        • Highlight spots in the conclusion that reflect the intro.
        • Is there a statement in the conclusion that generalizes the thesis ideas overall?
  • Due Sat. 2/15/20 by 11:59 pm: Final draft of Act I attitude shift / soliloquy essay. Also bring your two written drafts to class on Tues. 2/18/20.
